Just finished a short story for English after several agonizing days of moving at a slow pace with it.

I think I shall celebrate by drawing something… after a well-deserved shower for today.

I’ve been on a bit of a Sonic hype since I started playing Sonic Generations, which one of my younger sisters, a big Sonic fan, got for Christmas. As you can see, I went right ahead and made a fan character (two, actually; I’m still working on the other). I tried my best with the hands. I probably could have made them a bit smaller to make it easier on myself.
However, this isn’t one of those lame recolors of Sonic with fancy additions or anything. This is Sonic’s unspoken older brother, Linnell.
Here’s some info for him…
Name: Linnell the Hedgehog
Age: 25

Bio: About 9 years older than his famed sibling, Linnell is based on and named after John Linnell of They Might Be Giants. When Sonic decided to travel the world by himself at the age of 12, a 21-year-old Linnell chose to reside in a city literally named Unnamed City. There, he met Flans Prower (the other FC I came up with) when they moved to the same apartment on the same day at the exact same time. The two became friends and started working at a local record store. Linnell wrote Sonic many letters before deducted that they never got to wherever he was before he left. He then tried emailing Sonic, but quickly realized that the Blue Blur never seemed to have internet access. Desperate to regain contact with his baby bro, he then came up with the idea of starting a band with Flans and going on tour in hopes that they could find Sonic at any of their stops. The duo set about writing and recording original material and dubbed the band Thunderbird. They landed a record deal with Flood Records after they gained attention with a performance at a small festival that took place at Indigenous Plaza, one of Unnamed City’s hotspots. After their debut album was certified Gold, Thunderbird set out on their first tour, during which they had a few crazy adventures, such as facing off against a gun-toting DJ with a Type B personality disorder and saving a town from a group of militant graffiti artists. It wasn’t until a show in the city from Sonic Adventure 2 that it was reported that Sonic watched from the rigging above the audience. After that, the brothers got to visit with each other whenever Sonic could make it to a concert. They were slated to play a gig at Dr. Eggman’s Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park during the events of Sonic Colors but cancelled when they heard Sonic had discovered Eggman’s true intentions. They also planned on performing at Sonic’s 16th (I’m assuming) birthday party (Sonic Generations), but got lost on the way over due to a freak time traveling incident. They made it out with the help of Princess Elise from Sonic ‘06, who made a couple remarks that Linnell looked like someone she felt was vaguely familiar. He found out what she was talking about when they found a certain erased timeline lying around the White Space. Needless to say, he got a little worked up over a certain event in that certain erased timeline but forgave Elise at Flans’ persuasion.
Linnell is a tad more chill than Sonic. Though he doesn’t deliberately take on challenges as crazy as the ones Sonic does, he ends up living an equally adventurous life. He’s generally a pacifist, but if he sees someone he’s close to (i.e. Sonic or Flans) being severely mistreated, he’ll straight up kick the perpetrator in the shins until their legs bend backwards. If he were to directly see Sonic in grave danger, he would throw himself in harm’s way to save him.
I think it would be interesting if Big Idea Entertainment made a VeggieTales spoof/parody of Wreck-it Ralph. Regardless, I’m still a fan of Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph.
I think WiR actually displays a couple good Christian values or so by itself without the filmmakers even intending to.
For example, Vanellope’s story shined with a pretty good pro-life message to it; the way people said her glitching would only disadvantage herself and even Sugar Rush as a game but near the end of the movie, she learned to control it and make something useful out of. To me, that would be fantastic for people with disabilities and teach them that they can, in some way or another, learn to overcome whatever disability they may have and make something good out of it. I know, Vanellope turned out to be a actual programmed character whose ripped out of the game’s code. I saw the whole movie. But still, you have to admit the film taught you not to judge someone by something they can or can’t do, or an unsightly physical feature they’re stuck with (I’m looking straight at you, pro-choicers. You had best respect those with something like Down syndrome or a short life span, you hear? Pretend they’re someone like Vanellope).
Despite the fact that I’m not a big fan of this meme, I thought this was necessary to have on my blog
BEST USE OF THIS YET
Not too long ago, I kind of rediscovered They Might Be Giants and have been hooked and some songs by them. Man, I forgot how much I liked that band as a kid!
I did start doing up some fan art for them the other day…
…and barely got anywhere with it. I probably will try to finish it soon, though.
+OH MY CODE, I JUST FOUND THIS ON PAGE FIVE I THINK!
“I hear you’re a racer. Why don’t we test to see how well you can outrun deadly neurotoxin? I started releasing it 30 seconds ago. Did I forget to mention that?”
And Sour Bill’s in the corner thinking “Please kill him. He made me clean a toilet with my toothbrush.”
